Brief History

Omar Pizzorno and his wife Elida dedicated themselves to fruit-growing from a young age. Based in a property in Canelón Chico - where they still reside - they had a variety of fruit trees and some vineyards destined for grape production. At that time, wine making was reserved for family consumption.
In 1979, their daughter Lilián and her husband Néstor proposed a change in production and the creation of the winery. Thus, the family gradually replaced fruit plots with vineyards as they gained a greater percentage of the land. In 1985, the first harvest arrived and with it the realization of the family dream.

In 1984, Néstor was convinced that the path of viticulture was the one he wanted to pursue, and with the support of the entire family, he began construction of the winery, a large shed, a few sinks, and a great challenge ahead. In 1985, the first harvest arrived, and with it the fulfillment of that family dream. In the early years, the family devoted themselves to making table wines.
The period from 1989 to 2000 was the stage of the transformation of vineyards with high-quality French-origin vitis vinifera strains, from which mainly Tannat, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon wines are produced.

In the year 2000, a third generation was added to the winery. Fernando, who graduated as an oenologist in 1998, began to direct the wine-making. On the other hand, Cecilia, his sister, participated in the family business since 2005, the year she graduated as an accountant, and in 2015 she dedicated herself full-time to management.
Today, the family's effort translates into the highest quality fine wines.
